State level webinar on the basics of Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS)

The webinar was chaired by Mr. R.Lallianzela, Assistant Professor, Dept. of Social Work, HATIM. The welcome speech was proposed by Mr. Vuansanga Vanchhawng, Principal, HATIM. The keynote speaker, Mr.Rosangliana Khiangte, Assistant Professor and Head, Department of Social work, highlighted the history of SPSS, its application and the purpose of the webinar, which is to orient learners across the state on the application of appropriate statistical tools in their research.
The first Resource Person, Dr.C.Lalengzama, Assistant Professor, Dept. of Social Work, Mizoram University, delivered a lecture on the topics such as scale of measurement, data entry, processing of data, measures of central tendency, standard deviation, correlation, and interpretation of the results. The lecture was followed by hands on practice to enhance clarity.
The Second Resource Person, Mr. RTC.Lalremruata, Assistant Professor, Dept. of Social Work, HATIM, covered the topics such as Chi Square Test, Independent sample t- test and paired t-test. The meaning, assumptions of each test, test of normality, test of homogeneity, and the substitute test were discussed followed by hands on practice for clarity.
The webinar ended with a vote of thanks offered by Mr. John.C.Lalduhsaka, Assistant Professor, Dept. of Philosophy, HATIM.
